The Genie GS-4069 RT is a diesel scissor lift with a maximum working height of 14.12m / 46ft. It has a lift capacity of 363kg / 800lbs and a feature is that it can be driven at full height.
This model is 1:32 scale, and is the US version with no safety cover around the scissors.
Genie is part of Terex.
Packaging
The model comes in a Genie branded box and is wrapped in soft paper, and contained in a pair of expanded polystyrene trays.
There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.
There is no information about the model or the real machine.
Detail
The chassis is simply modelled with the cabinets being hollow underneath. The wheels are plastic with some detail on the outer faces, and nice small rough terrain tyres. The outriggers are mounted in plastic boxes with screw thread pistons and nicely shaped pads.
The metal cabinets on each side have the panels detailed in the casting and the graphics are sharp.
The scissors are metal with reasonably small pinned connections. The two hydraulic rams have simple plastic jackets.
The platform has an entirely metal structure with nice handrails, although the portable control box is not modelled. The platform floor is nicely textured.
Features
The front axle steers with a decent range of movement, and it is also an oscillating axle for rough terrain work.
The outriggers can be lowered and will hold the machine wheels-free.
The scissors extend smoothly and will hold any height. The fully extended height is around 6cm short of the scaled height of the real machine.
The platform is extendible and it slides smoothly.
Quality
This is a relatively heavy model with a high metal content.
The graphics and paintwork are very good.
Price
It is good value when obtained from Genie Merchandise.
Overall
This is a robust model with simple detailing and good functionality, noting only that the scale working height of the model is a little low.
