Comment on this model.

This Mercedes-Benz Arocs is an 8x4 heavy haulage SLT version.  It is designed to haul a gross combination weight of 250 tonnes.

Packaging

The model comes in an NZG branded box and is contained between a pair of polystyrene trays held in place with a clear plastic former.

The review model had no defects or missing parts.

There is no assembly to do, and no information about the model or real truck is supplied.

Detail

The Arocs chassis is detailed with the steering being functionally modelled as a compromise.  The tyres have the same tread pattern and the wheels are detailed.

The grille at the front is authentically reproduced from the real truck and there is a non-functional towing hitch and a dummy number plate.  There are air horns, beacon lights and aerials on the roof, and the light bar is silvered plastic.  The rooflight is see-through which is a nice touch.

The doors have good inset handles.  Inside the cab there is a nice two-tone finish.

Behind the cab the equipment tower is mainly plastic with nice detailing including coiled lines.  An impressive grille is modelled on one side.

The rear wheel arches are metal and the rear lights have plastic lenses.  There is a rear towing hitch.

Features

The Arocs rolls very smoothly and the steering has a very good range of movement.

The towing hitch pin at the front is removable.

Quality

This is a high quality mainly metal model with a heavy feel.

The paintwork and graphics are very good.

Price

The model is reasonable value for money.

Overall

NZG knows how to produce a good quality Mercedes-Benz model and this Arocs SLT is well made.  All it needs is a suitable trailer to make an impressive display.
