Comment on this model.

The Wacker Neuson RD45 is a tandem roller.  The real machine has a drum width of 1380mm and weighs around 5 tonnes.

The RD45 is made by Hamm to Wacker Neuson specifications and is closely related to the Hamm HD 14 VV.

The model is contained within two polystyrene trays enclosed in a small branded box.

The review model had no defects or missing parts.

There is no assembly required.

Underneath there is no detail with two large screw heads visible.  The drums are metal and smooth.

At the front the grille is good and there is a tiny Wacker logo on top.  There are painted lights.  The side grilles are represented by graphics.

The operator's area has a diamond plate surfacing, and the main controls are represented in plastic.

The roll-over bar is metal and includes a beacon light and work lights.

The rollers turn well and the model rolls well when pushed.

The roller steers to a reasonable by rotation at the pivot point in the centre, and there is a small amount of twist available at the pivot.

The crab steering mode of the original machine is not facilitated.

This is a small well-made model with a high metal content.

The paint and graphics are very good.

It is fair value.

This is a nice model of a small tandem roller.

The model was released for Bauma 2016.
