The Vögele 1880-3 is a tracked road paver aimed at the Chinese market.

It is modelled in 1:35 scale which is the common scale for Chinese construction equipment models.

Packaging

The model comes in a Vögele branded box which has Chinese text.  Inside the box, the model is contained within expanded polystyrene trays.

The review model had no missing parts or defects.

Some information about the real machine is printed on the box, and a plastic pointer is included with the model.

Detail

There is base plate is plain and the detailed plastic tracks are mounted on track frames with scrapers at the rear.  The material spreading auger is metal.

At the front the hopper floor is modelled in metal as are the sides, which have sharp graphics.  The rollers for engaging a tipper's wheels are modelled as non-functioning parts.

At the rear the screed is mostly metal with plastic support stays which have a good colour match.  The control consoles at the ends of the screed are excellent, as are the textured walkway surfaces.  The handrails are metal.  Hydraulic hoses run to the screed from the engine.

The operator's area has metal grab rails, and a nice textured floor.  The seats are textured with the Wirtgen logo on the backs.   The operator's console is highly detailed and it looks great. The canopy roof is metal with plastic extensions.

The engine panels have nicely formed grilles. Under the panels is some engine detailing.

Features

The tracks are rotate easily by hand and they have moving scrapers at one end.

The screed can be raised and lowered although it is too heavy to stay in the raised position. It is extendible for width.

The hopper sides can be closed in fully, and the leading flap can be raised and lowered.

The engine covers on top opens.  On both sides there are two opening panels.

The operator seats rotate outward and the canopy can be extended above.  The control console can be rotated to face the seats and it can be moved from side to side to position in front of either seat.

The roof can be lowered to reduce the headroom for transport.  However, the screed is permanently configured to a wide setting.

Quality

This model is very well made.  It is mostly metal with some plastic parts.

The paintwork and graphics are excellent.

Price

It is understood to be good value at a typical Chinese selling price.

Overall

This is an excellent paver model by Sunraise, and it pairs well a Hamm roller in the same scale.
