The Hamm HD 148i VV Tandem Roller is a machine made
for the Chinese market.
Accordingly it is modelled in 1:35 scale to reflect the
usual scale for Chinese models of construction machines.
Packaging
The model comes in an Hamm branded box. Inside the box,
the model is contained within expanded polystyrene
trays which are clipped together.
The review model had no missing parts or defects.
Some information about the real machine is printed on
the box but it is in Chinese.
Detail
The rollers are metal with a slight
grooved finish and
there are twin plastic scrapers on each drum.
Hydraulic lines are modelled on the drum supports and
there are high quality casting details and graphics.
There are lights at each end. The water tanks for the
roller drums are plastic and have a good matt finish and
include realistic filler caps.
Under the cab there are doors to the engine area
on both sides and these are detailed with metal textured steps.
The cab has some very good detailing with a
beacon light and mirrors. Inside, the control console and seat
look good.
Features
The drums are very free rolling.
Steering across the pivot point achieves a good
angle, and also a slight offset if required.
Both cab doors open to approximately a right angle to
the cab.
The engine covers on both sides open to reveal engine
details but these are unpainted.
The operator's seat and console can be rotated.
Quality
This model is well made. It has a
high metal content with plastic used appropriately.
The paintwork and graphics are excellent.
Price
It is understood to be good value at a typical
Chinese selling price.
Overall
This is another excellent Hamm roller
model by Sunraise Classic Models. It has nice
functionality and pleasing details.
