The
Zoomlion 64X-6RZ is a concrete pump and in this model
version it is mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Actros
chassis. It has a theoretical output of 120m³ per hour,
and the boom can reach around 60m. The box
advertises the machine as having a carbon boom.
Packaging
The model comes in a
Zoomlion branded box with a carry handle and inside
it, the model is contained within plastic formers. The model is
fixed to the base with twist ties which are frustrating
to remove.
The review model had no defects or missing parts.
A pointer is included with the model. There is no information about the real truck.
The model is in the unusual scale of 1:38.
Detail
The truck chassis is based on a Mercedes-Benz Actros and
the model is reasonably detailed underneath,
with a number of parts modelled in plastic.
The wheels are nicely detailed, and the tyres are the same on
all axles.
The cab is a recognisable Actros truck, and it is detailed with a grille, lights, and
plastic mirrors, and the Mercedes-Benz logo. The
interior detail is fine, with a detailed console.
There is no number plate as this is a generic model.
The front outriggers have two rigid plastic sections and
the thinnest section is metal. The rear outrigger beams are metal.
The large rear pair
are nicely decorated with graphics, and includes the
rear lights. There is some nice detailing of
access plates. The outrigger pistons have visible
screw threads.
The carrier deck has
diamond plated texturing, and the pump piston
tubes are modelled in plastic with an excellent colour
match. At the rear the hopper has a large grille and various components are
detailed under it. Plastic steps rise up to the
deck on one side.
The metal boom is very heavy and made up of five
main sections, with the top one split so there are six sections in
all.
The connection rivets are fairly large but blend in with
the colour scheme. The slewing ring is nicely modelled, and a single hydraulic ram controls
the first boom section. All the rams have jackets
with tough plastic. The metal pipework is modelled well, and a plastic
length of discharge hose is fixed to the end.
Features
The model is
heavy so rolls well. The
linked front two axles have a fairly shallow steering
angle. The rear axle also steers.
The cab doors open and shut.
The cab tilts to a good angle.
The front three-stage outriggers extend, and the rear
beams rotate outwards. The pads can be
screwed down.
All the boom sections are controlled by rams which rely on
friction to hold a pose. The grade of plastic
means the ram are sticky and jerky to extend. Despite
the very heavy boom, almost all poses can be set.
The boom rotates smoothly.
The hopper lid can be opened and closed
Quality
It has a high metal content with some plastic
used, mainly on the chassis. The quality level is
very good.
The paintwork and graphics are also very good.
Price
It is good value for a large and heavy
model.
Overall
The scale of 1:38 is very uncommon so posing it
with other models may not look right, except with the
matching truck mixer. This concrete pump looks
attractive in Zoomlion's colours.
