The Mercedes Benz Actros Titan 8x4 4155 is a large tractor for heavy haulage applications.

This version of the model has been commissioned by Heavy Transport Models and is in H N Krane livery.  It is intended to be paired with the Goldhofer XLE trailer in H N Krane livery.

Packaging

The model is supplied in a Tekno branded windowed box with the model held within good quality foam rubber.  The review model had no defects or missing parts.

There are small parts to fit and no instructions but it is fairly obvious where they go.  The mirrors fitted well but the roof aerials are too loose in their holes so need additional fixing using plastic putty or glue.

The model comes with a uniquely numbered and signed collector's card which includes a photo of the real truck.

Detail

The chassis detailing is good with the representation of the suspension and transmission being largely in plastic.  The steering mechanism is modelled for function rather than being accurate to the real truck.

The wheels are detailed and are a little different to those shown on the real truck, and the tyres have a different tread pattern on the front and rear wheels.

Detailing around the cab is good with colour coded door mirrors, and a light bar and aerials on the roof.  The number plate is correct to the real machine and the model appears generally accurate to the truck on the collector card.

An engine block is modelled under the cab and it has Mercedes Benz written on it.

Behind the cab the equipment tower is plastic with coiled air lines and wheel chocks, with a cabinet instead of the radiator on the 4160 version.  The top of the exhaust pipe sits a little low compared to the real truck.

The wheel arches are plastic and the rear light clusters have lenses.  There is a rear towing hitch.

Features

The front two axles have linked steering and the range on the front axle is good, with the second axle having much less and it does foul the wheel arch very quickly.

The cab tilts to reveal the engine and can be posed in a tilted position.

A removable ladder is provided which is stored under the walkway behind the equipment tower.

The towing hitch has a removable pin.  The hitch sticks out from the rear of the tractor quite a bit and this means it can foul the Goldhofer XLE trailer when it is connected to the tractor so care is required in handling the model.

Quality

The quality is good and and where plastic is used it adds detail and does not show as plastic.

The paintwork and graphics are of a very good standard and represent the H N Krane colours well.

Price

The price reflects the limited edition.

Overall

This is a well made version of the Titan tractor which looks good in H N Krane colours.  It is detailed and is good enough to be highly recommended.
