The Ammann ART 280 is a tyred roller with a weight of around 9.7 tonnes.

Packaging

The model comes in an Ammann-branded box with photos of the real machine on the ends.  It is held between plastic formers.

There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.

There is no information included about the real machine or model.

Detail

On the underside is a simple plastic plate with the model maker's branding.  The slick rubber tyres are nice and they are mounted on detailed wheels.  There are plastic wheel scrapers front and rear.  There is an asphalt cutter modelled on one of the rear wheels.

At the front there are painted lights, and plastic mirrors, and the front cover is nicely textured.  Lifting eyes are provided at the four corners of the model.

The cab is plastic with plastic grab rails and beacon light. Inside, the detail is reasonable. Textured surfaces are on the steps to the cab and inside Bell is printed on the seat back.

At the back the detailing is similar to the front with an addition of a warning triangle.

Features

The wheels roll easily.

The front wheel pairs are linked and steer to a moderate angle.

The asphalt cutter on one of the rear wheels can be raised and lowered slightly.

At the rear the engine cover opens up and can be posed that way.  There is a detailed multi component engine underneath.

Quality

The model is reasonable quality with a number of plastic elements.

The paint is very good and the graphics are sharp.

Price

The price point represents good value.

Overall

This is a good model by USK.  The basic functionality is nice, and there is enough detailing for it to look good.  It would pose well with other related models.
