This model is a Scania R440 Truck-Trailer combination
and it is in the colours of
J. Stam Transport, a Dutch haulage company which was
founded in 1974.
Packaging
The packaging is a typical WSI branded box which has the
model contained within clear plastic formers embedded in
an expanded polystyrene tray.
There were no missing parts or defects on the review
model.
There is no information provided about the real truck or
model.
Detail
The Scania R440 chassis is excellent with the
transmission and suspension modelled in metal and
plastic. The exhaust system is also modelled.
The tyres have a different tread pattern depending on
the axle, and the chromed wheels have red centres like
the real truck.
External cab detail includes mirrors,
wipers and lights although there are no aerials. The cab artwork is
very high quality and sharp, and there is a number
plate.
Interior detail is reasonable. Under the cab is a detailed engine with
different coloured components. The chassis has a
variety of tanks and boxes and the Frigoblock
refrigeration equipment is modelled to a high standard
with one box having fine mesh with fans visible behind.
Behind the cab the box is modelled in metal with very
good paint and graphics. At the rear the doors are
also highly detailed. A
tailgate system is modelled under the rear doors.
The trailer is of a similar high standard. The
towing bar is metal and has coiled airlines attached.
Underneath the trailer is a spare wheel holder.
The box is metal with very good quality paint and
graphics which match the truck.
Features
The
Scania truck has working steering which is rather loose
but with a good range of movement.
The cab tilts forwards and can be posed tilted.
The rear axle can be raised and clipped out of service.
The trailer has an adjustable length towing bar which
can be pinned in different positions. It connects
to the truck.
The forward axle can be raised and clipped out of
service and there is working suspension on the rear
axle.
Quality
This model is very high quality with limited use of
plastic.
The paintwork and graphics are also very good.
Price
The model is reasonable value.
Overall
WSI has produced another very high quality commercial vehicle
which impresses because of its relatively heavy weight
and very good paint and graphics.
