Comment on this model.
This model is a
Scania R ToplineTractor with a Refrigerated Trailer.
It is in the colours of
Land Transport, a Dutch company founded in 1923.
Packaging
The packaging is a typical WSI branded box with the
model contained within an expanded polystyrene tray.
There were no missing parts or defects on the review
model.
There is no information provided about the real truck
or model.
Detail
The 4x2 Scania tractor unit is high quality, with very
good transmission and suspension details on the
chassis. The tyre tread patterns look good as do the
detailed hubs.
The front of the Scania has sharp graphics, detailing
and number plate. The light bar and lights above the
windscreen are very good. Inside the cab, the detail
level is reasonable.
Under the cab is a detailed engine. Behind the cab there
are coiled lines and an excellent diamond plated walkway
leading to the fifth wheel area. The fuel tanks have
nicely detailed straps. At the back the rear light
clusters are very good.
The trailer is heavy as it is mostly metal with
the exception of the red box and load platform underneath. The axle
assemblies are modelled well with nice wheels and the
landing legs are detailed with a fine winding handle.
At the front the Thermo King refrigeration unit is
modelled well with connection points for lines from
the tractor provided underneath. The graphics on the
sides are very sharp and clear.
At the rear the door bolts and hinges are nicely
highlighted and the lights have plastic lenses, and there are
tiny side lights.
Features
The Scania steering achieves a limited angle
before the wheels are fouled. There is a small
amount of vertical movement in the rear axle.
The cab tilts to reveal the engine and it can pose in a
tilted position.
The trailer has working suspension with each axle
individually sprung.
The landing legs at the front can be lowered to support
the trailer when disconnected from a tractor, and no
unsightly screw threads are visible.
Quality
This model is very high quality with limited plastic.
The paintwork and graphics are very good.
Price
The model is reasonable value.
Overall
This is a very sharp looking model which is well made
and finished. It poses well and is highly recommended.
Footnotes
The model appeared in September 2014.
