Transtolk, a Dutch company originally started in
1961.

Detail
The Scania 6x2 chassis and transmission is
really good with a high metal content, and the exhaust,
tank and boxes are modelled. The wheels are very
detailed with different tyres on the driven and
non-driven axles. At the rear a non-functioning
loading platform is modelled.
The Topline R 730 cab is highly detailed with realistic
lights and the Scania grille impresses. The cab interior
has a Scania logo on the steering wheel.
The decoration of the cab is excellent with detailed
small graphics. Under the cab is a detailed engine with
different coloured components.
The box section is metal and the graphics are
really good. They depict a variety of Transtolk
vehicles over a 50 year period. A large fuel tank
is on one side and on the side of the chassis is a
cooling box and cabinet. The rear decoration is also
excellent with careful
delineation of the doors by casting detail and paint,
with the hinges highlighted. The rear lights and
number plate look good.
The trailer is a 3-axle box
and the chassis has nicely modelled axles and detailed
wheels.
The landing legs are metal and include a winding handle.
At the rear a non-functioning loading platform is
modelled.
At the front the drawbar has air lines.
The box is a metal piece that
is decorated to the same high standard as the box truck.
The rear doors have highlighted locking bolts and the lights and other details at the rear are very good.
Features
The Scania steering has a good range of movement
so interesting poses are possible, although it was quite
loose on the review model. The rear axle is a
lift axle so it can be posed clipped out of service.
The cab tilts forward to about 45° and can pose in the
tilted position.
The
drawbar is pinned and can be lengthened with four
different settings being possible.
The trailer axles have very good sprung suspension, and
axles 1 and 2 can be raised and clipped out of service,
although axle 2 remained grounded on the review model.
The landing legs can be lowered by unscrewing.
When fully configured it
is around 39cm long.
Quality
This model is high quality with little plastic,
so it is relatively heavy.
The paintwork and graphics are excellent.
Price
The model is reasonable value.
Overall
This is an impressive looking truck and trailer
combination with very interesting graphics which will be
appeal to a truck enthusiast. The
functionality is good too and it is an outstanding
looking model.
