| Comment on this model.
This is a model of a Volvo FH4 Globetrotter XL Tractor with a Pacton Container Trailer. It is in the colours of Niek Dijkstra, the Dutch haulage company.
The big 45ft container is in the colours of the Dutch company Eucon.
Packaging
The model comes in a typical WSI Collectibles branded box which has a window allowing the model to be seen. Inside the model is held between plastic formers.
There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.
There is no information provided about the model. Small container locking points are supplied in a separate bag.
Detail
The tractor is a Volvo 6x2 unit, and the detail on the chassis is very good. The gearbox is highlighted in a different colour. The wheel hubs are excellent, and there are different tyre tread patterns on the driven axles.
At the front the cab looks really good, and the lights have either lenses or jewels. The mirrors are colour-coded and there is a solid roof light on the cab. An authentic number plate is provided. The Dijkstra livery is applied really well and looks great. Behind the cab, there are coiled lines, and various tanks are modelled well. Plastic wheel arches cover the rear wheels and the rear lights have plastic lenses.
The trailer is very detailed with a realistic structure. The axles have the suspension fully represented, and there are hoses running to each wheel. The wheels are particularly good. At the front there are a couple of landing legs and wheel chocks.
At the back the lights are convincing and the mud flaps are plastic. A separate back of locking clips is provided to enable the container to be attached.
The container is all metal and so it is fairly heavy. It is accurately ribbed and the graphics are applied really well. At the back the doors have highlighted bolts and more excellent graphics.
Features
The Volvo has a steering on the front two axles and the steering lock is moderate.
The cab tilts to a good angle to reveal a detailed engine bearing the Volvo name.
The trailer has effective working suspension with good movement on each axle.
At the front the landing legs can be screwed down, revealing smooth pistons. There is a spare wheel in a holder.
The trailer bed can be extended, both at the front, in the middle and at the back, allowing a variety of container sizes to be carried.
The container and be posed on the trailer or separately.
Quality
This is a another high quality truck model with a high metal content.
The paintwork and graphics are of a very high standard.
Price
The model is good value.
Overall
Although this might be regarded as a bread and butter truck it stands out because of the Dijkstra colour scheme. It is also a very nicely engineered model.
Footnotes
The model appeared in November 2015.
