Comment on this model.

This model is a Volvo FH4 and Bellied Powder Tanker and is operated by the Austrian company Silo Melmer

Packaging

The packaging is a typical WSI branded box with the model contained within plastic formersl.

There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.

There is no information provided about the real truck or model.

Detail

The Volvo FH4 4x2 chassis is typically detailed for WSI with the transmission and suspension modelled nicely modelled with tanks and an exhaust system.  The tyres have a different tread pattern front and rear.

The cab is very attractive in the Silo Melmer colour scheme.  There are colour coded door mirrors and the grille at the front looks great.  There is a realistic number plate.

Interior detail includes Volvo on the steering wheel and under the cab is a detailed engine also with the Volvo name.

Behind the cab there are coiled air lines and an anti-slip surface.  The wheel arches are plastic and the rear lights have plastic lenses.

The trailer detailing is very good.  Underneath the hoses and pipes for the tanker look good and the chassis is detailed, and there is a spare wheel.

The tanker feels high quality with very good graphics.  Pipes are clipped on both sides and there are detailed graphics at the control panel.  There is a metal ladder at the back and a nice metal walkway along the top.  The handrails are permanently folded and the clamps on the access covers look realistic.

Features

The steering on the Volvo is moderate.

The cab tilts forwards and can pose tilted.

The trailer has working suspension with each axle individually sprung.

The landing legs at the front can be lowered to support the trailer when disconnected from a tractor, and no unsightly screw threads are visible.

Quality

This model is high quality with a high metal content.

The paintwork and graphics are very good.

Price

The model is reasonable value.

Overall

This is a good looking truck model and the simple Silo Melmer colour scheme and graphics shine.   It is well detailed with some decent functionality.
