Volvo FM4 + Nooteboom MPX 5-axle - Van der Vlist [Youku video]
WSI box.
Impressive Volvo in Van der Vlist colours.
Usual detailed chassis.
Very detailed gooseneck.
Excellent trailer details.

Excellent ramps.
Deck posts and width extension beam.
Looks great with a load.
Loading on the ramps.
Convincing heavy haulage.

The tractor is a Volvo FM4 Sleeper cab and the trailer is a Nooteboom 5-axle MPX Semi Low Loader.

It is in the colours of the Dutch company Van der Vlist.

Packaging

The packaging is the usual WSI-branded windowed box.

There were no missing parts on the review model.  However the landing legs of the trailer appeared to be glued into position and were not adjustable on the review model.

Included with the model is a good quality manual which describes the real Nooteboom trailer and includes photos of it, and the main features of the model are also described.

Detail

The Volvo chassis is very detailed and the tyres have different treads on the front and rear axles, and are mounted on detailed wheels with very smart trims.

The cab has colour-coded mirrors, with beacon lights on the roof.   At the front there is a nice Convoi Exceptionnel sign and a realistic number plate.

The Van der Vlist livery looks great and the paintwork and graphics are excellent.  Inside the cab, the details are reasonable.  Under the cab is a detailed engine with Volvo printed on it.

Behind the cab, there is an equipment box and there are coiled lines.  Diamond plated surfacing extends to the fifth wheel.  At the back, the lights have plastic lenses, there is a number plate and plastic mud flaps.

The trailer is assembled as one piece.

The gooseneck has fixed sides and there are some excellent tiny graphics on the he control console on the left side.  The underneath of the gooseneck is also very detailed with hoses and tanks.

The trailer is very detailed underneath and includes hoses, tanks and wheel chocks.  There are tiny graphics along the deck edge and there is very nice highlighting of the bolt heads on the access plates above the pendle axles.  The detailing at the back is also excellent.

Tiny plastic extension beams for supporting timber edge extensions are modelled, and the replica timbers are included, and holes for deck posts are provided.  The metal posts are included with the model also.

Features

The Volvo has steering which achieves a moderate angle.

The cab tilts forward to about 45° and can pose in the tilted position.

The fifth wheel has some longitudinal movement to accommodate different trailers.

The gooseneck has working cylinders so different angles can be set.

Marker boards under the gooseneck can be extended or retracted.

The axles have very good proportional steering on axles 2 to 5, and axles 3 to 5 have sprung suspension.

Axles 1 and 2 can be raised out of service with a good ground clearance.

The deck is extendible.

The ramps can be lowered for loading.

The deck can be configured with deck posts and extra plastic timbers to extend the width.

Quality

This model is very high quality.

The paintwork and graphics are to a high standard.

Price

The model is reasonable value.

Overall

This is another excellent heavy haulage model from WSI.  It is a great combination of details and features in an attractive and well known livery.
