This truck is a
Scania Streamline
8x4 with a Palfinger Hooklift System and a 40m³ Container.
It is a limited edition model in the colours
of the Danish company
Kims Container Service.
Packaging
The box is
WSI branded, and unusually comes in an outer shipping
carton. Inside the packaging is the standard WSI type for a truck model.
There were no missing parts or defects on the review
model.
There is no information
about the real truck, Hooklift System, or model.
Detail
The
Scania chassis is an 8x4 arrangement and it is modelled
with metal suspension and transmission parts.
The wheels are very detailed with different tyres on the
steering and driven axles.
The cab has the distinctive front grille and colour
coded door mirrors. The Kims graphics
are very nice and sharp.
Behind the cab there are fairings between the wheels.
The Hooklift is modelled well, and the twin rams have
plastic jackets with Palfinger graphics.
The
large container has a nice ribbed structure with solid
ladder rungs at the front, and detailed door locks at
the rear. There are two moving rollers at the
rear.
Features
The
front axle has limited steering, and it is linked to the
rear axle.
The cab tilts and stays tilted at a good angle,
with the engine visible underneath.
The movement of the Hooklift system is very good, and it
includes a telescopic section, and any intermediate pose
can be held.
The tipping function for the container is also very
good. However, the pistons in the rams are a
little short for some reason so they pull out of the
jackets at the extreme end of movement.
The container cover is removable,
but unfortunately the rear doors of the container do not
open which restricts the posing possibilities somewhat.
Quality
It is well made with a high metal content
and appropriate use of plastic.
The paintwork is very good and the
graphics are sharp.
Price
The model is reasonable value
for a limited edition.
Overall
This is an attractive limited edition Scania model.
It has nice functionality although the lack of opening
rear doors on the container reduces display flexibility.
Footnotes
The model appeared in March 2019.
