This model is of an 8x4 Scania S Highline I CS20H coupled with a Nooteboom Low Loader with 5-axle EURO-PX + 3-axle ICP.

It is a limited edition in the colours of Navigator Transport, a Polish heavy haulage company.

Packaging

The packaging is the usual WSI-branded windowed box with the model held in a plastic former inside an expanded polystyrene tray, with a clear plastic lid.

There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.

An instruction sheet is included for the trailer, and there is information about the real trailer also.

Detail

The chassis has a very detailed transmission and suspension.  The wheels look good in the two tone colour scheme and there are different tyres on the steering and non-steering axles.

The Scania cab is impressive.  The Navigator Transport graphics and colour scheme are excellent. Under the cab is a detailed engine.  At the front is a realistic number plate and a Convoi Exceptionnel sign.

The equipment tower has various tanks and cabinets, and coiled lines run from the tower.  The wheel arches are very smart.  At the back the lights have plastic lenses.

The trailer is made up of the gooseneck, a 3-axle Interdolly, load deck, and 5-axle Pendel X module.

The gooseneck is a metal part and it is highly decorated.  The control console on one side is very finely detailed.  The tarpaulin cover is excellent with fine quality texturing.  At the rear a set of hoses / cables are ready to plug into the Interdolly or deck.  Two spare wheels are fitted at the front and plastic warning markers can be clipped on.

The 3-axle Interdolly has detailed wheels supported on metal parts.  The authentic look is highlighted by the use of tiny graphics and highlighted tie-down loops, and on top the painting highlights bolt heads around the access plates.

The 5-axle unit is similarly detailed.  It features a deep central trough which is an advantage of this trailer design so that the boom of a transported load can be folded low.  Graphics are used to provide the detail on the inner edges and tie-down loops are reproduced within the casting.  A warning marker board assembly fits on top, and a Convoi Exceptionnel sign is included which needs to have the tabs bent so it can be placed in position.

The deck is metal with inlaid plastic deck surfacing.  The edges are detailed with painted tie-down loops.  Plastic extension brackets hold the replica timber deck width extensions.

The optional deck posts are metal.

Features

The Scania has linked steering on axles 1 and 2 with a limited range of movement possible.

The cab tilts forward and it poses in a tilted position.

The gooseneck has stiff working cylinders so different angles can be set.  It can be connected to the Interdolly, and a spacer piece is provided for use if connecting directly to the low loader deck.

The gooseneck tarpaulin can be removed.

The steering is proportional on the 5-axle module and parallel on the 3-axle.

It can be configured without the 3-axle module.

The deck is extendible, and can be configured with width extensions and deck posts.

Quality

This model is high quality with a high metal content and plastic used appropriately.

The paintwork is excellent as are the graphics.

Price

The model is moderate value overall.

Overall

This is a very attractive low loader model.  It is also high quality, with the flexibility to be posed in different ways with other models.
