The tractor is a
MAN TGX XLX Euro 6C and the
trailer is a Nooteboom 3-axle Mega Trailer.
It is in the colours of
Universal Transport.
Packaging
The packaging is the usual WSI-branded
windowed box.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review
model.
There is no information about the real truck or model.
Detail
The MAN 4x2 chassis is highly detailed but unusually the tyres
have the same treads on all axles. They are mounted on
detailed wheels with blue highlighted hubs.
There are small beacon lights on the cab roof, and the
visor has 'Don't worry, be heavy' on it. The grille is excellent
and there is a realistic number plate. On
the sides there is Universal Transport fleet number, and
an MAN type number.
Inside the cab, the
seats, controls and furniture are modelled. Under the cab is a detailed engine
which has MAN Common Rail printed on it.
Behind the cab, the
back panel has contours, and there are coiled lines. The wheel
arches are split. At the back, the lights have plastic
lenses and there is a number plate.
The trailer is assembled as one piece. It is very
detailed underneath and includes hoses and tanks. There are partially modelled boxes at the
mid point which would have been better with a solid
shape. At the rear is a box which looks like it is
for loading ramps. There are rear stabilisers for
rear end loading of plant, but they are not adjustable.
The
headboard has got some tiny graphics applied and there
are more tiny graphics along the deck edges. There
is also a yellow stripe. The detailing at the back is also
excellent. The deck has a mix of plastic replica
timbers, diamond plated surfaces and metal structure.
Tiny plastic extension beams for supporting timber edge
extensions are modelled, and there were no replica timbers included
with the review model. Metal deck posts are included
together with eight container locks.
Features
The MAN's
steering has a good range of movement, although it is loose
so moves about when the model is rolled.
The cab tilts to a good angle and the model is stable
when the cab is tilted.
Marker boards under the front and rear of the
trailer can be extended or
retracted.
The axles have
linked steering which is a little soft and they also have
looseness representing sprung suspension.
The front landing legs can be lowered by unscrewing.
The deck is extendible and telescopes out to a long
length.
The deck can be configured with deck posts
and container locks.
Quality
This model is very high quality.
The paintwork and graphics are to a
very high standard.
Price
The model is reasonable value.
Overall
This is a really nice model of the Nooteboom Mega
Trailer, and it is attractive in the colours of
Universal Transport. It is surprising that deck
edge beams are not included to enable a wider trailer
deck.
