This model is a
Scania S Highline CS20H 8x4 Tractor with a Nooteboom MANOOVR 7-axle with
2-axle Multidolly Trailer.
It is in the colours of the French haulage company
Transports Sylvain Leger.
Packaging
The model comes in high quality
WSI branded packaging. The model parts are held within black foam.
There were no missing parts
of damage on the review model.
There is a small booklet which has interesting
information about the real trailer, and it also
describes most of the features of the model.
There are a couple of bags of small parts to fit.
Detail
The
Scania has a detailed
8x4 chassis and the tyres are different on the steering
and driven axles.
The cab
detailing is excellent and the decoration is first class.
At the front there are two Michelin men figurines. Behind the cab the equipment
has cabinets indicated and there are coiled lines. There are license plates
front and rear.
The gooseneck is very detailed and the underside has a
detailed king pin turntable. The control console on the
side is very finely detailed and the anti slip surface
is convincing. Additional details include two spare
wheel holders and a tool box.
The trailer is a two axle interdolly and a seven axle
Manoovr unit. The detailing underneath is very good
with metal wheel assemblies.
The top surfaces have an excellent finish with anti-slip
texture. The edges have a stripe and there tiny
graphics and highlighted tie-down loops. At the rear
there are twin ramps with restraining chains. The
detailing and graphics give a realistic look.
Marker boards can be fitted as can two types of metal deck posts and
a Convoi Exceptionnel sign.
Features
The Scania steering movement
is modest. The cab tilts and maintains a tilted
pose.
The gooseneck has an adjustable angle with the rams
controlling it being stiff. It has support legs which
can be pinned in the up or down positions, although care
is required as the pins are tiny and can drop out if the
model is tilted.
The Manoovr module has independent suspension
on five axles and there is very good proportional
steering. The front two axles can be raised out of
service.
It has an extendible beam which after bedding in is smooth in operation.
The interdolly has two axles which
can be raised out of service. Axle steering is
parallel.
The ramps can be lowered. However, the stabilisers
under the deck end are non-functional and the spacing of
the ramps cannot be altered.
A variety of trailer configurations are possible either
with or without the interdolly, or with the beam
extended or not. Marker boards and deck posts can
be fitted.
Quality
This is a high quality model with a high metal content.
The paint finish and decoration is excellent, and the graphics are sharp.
Price
The price is reasonable value for a
large heavy haulage model.
Overall
This is a very attractive heavy haulage model
in the Leger livery. The detailing is at a high
level and the functionality of the trailer is very good.
