Comment on this model.
This model features a Volvo FH2
Globetrotter XL 4x2 tractor and a Bulthuis Cargo Floor Trailer in the colours of Kolk, a
Dutch transport company.
Bulthuis is a Dutch trailer manufacturer.
The Cargo Floor system (also known as a
walking floor)
consists of slats which in move sequence to transit a
load to or from the back of the trailer. This
mechanism avoids the need for tipping equipment and
there are no headroom issues. It is suitable for
bulk materials and palletized loads.
Packaging
The model arrived in a WSI branded box which did not
name the model.
There were no
defects or missing parts on the review model.
There is no information about the real truck included,
and no instructions for the model. There are a few
parts to fit to the trailer and it is easy to do.
Detail
The Volvo chassis is very detailed with the transmission
and suspension modelled in metal, and various tanks look
very good. The tyres have different tread patterns
front and rear and the wheels look sharp with their blue centres.
The roof has a variety of lights and the front grille,
colour-coded door mirrors and metallic paint are
attractive. Interior detail is good. Behind
the cab there are coiled air lines and the wheel arches
are plastic. The rear lights have plastic lenses and
there is a realistic number plate front and rear.
The trailer chassis is also very detailed and the system
for moving the floor slats is modelled nicely. The
axle suspension is modelled and the wheels and tyres
look nice. The landing legs have smooth piston
sides.
The body sides are metal and finely decorated with sharp
graphics. At the front the access ladders and
platforms are metal and excellent. A detailed
control console for the moving floor is modelled and the
very detailed rear light cluster looks good too.
The plastic tarpaulin cover is moulded to indicate
texturing and there are holding down straps. A
roll fits on top.
Inside the trailer the moving floor is nicely modelled
in metal.
Features
The steering of the front axle can be pressured to a
decent angle to obtain a more
interesting pose, although the tyres are fouled.
The cab tilts and a detailed engine is revealed
underneath.
The trailer has fully sprung suspension and the landing
legs can be lowered to hold the trailer level when not
attached to a tractor.
A flap folds down at the rear to cover the
trailer lights when
necessary during loading / unloading.
The model can be displayed with or without the tarpaulin
cover fitted over.
Quality
This is a very high detail, high quality model.
The Kolk livery is excellent and the applied graphics
are very sharp.
Price
The model is good value for money.
Overall
This is a great-looking truck model in the livery of Kolk. It is very detailed and is easy to highly
recommend.
