Comment on this model.
The Volkswagen Crafter is a larger utility van and this
model of it is in the panel variant. Fully loaded it
weighs up to 5 tonnes.
This version of the model is in the colours of
Freyssinet,
a French company specialising in structures. It is
part of the VINCI Group.
Packaging
The
box is in typical WSI-style branding and inside the model is held
inside an expanded polystyrene tray with a clear plastic
lid.
There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.
There is no information provided about the real
van
or model.
Detail
The floor pan is detailed with the exhaust and spare
wheel holder highlighted. Treaded tyres are
mounted on small detailed wheels.
At the front the lights have lenses, the VW logo is
excellent and it has a realistic number plate.
There are wipers and good door mirrors (with indicators) around
the cab and the inside detail is very good.
The body is metal with panels and doors detailed within
the casting. The Freyssinet livery looks good and
the graphics are sharp with the careful use of paint
highlighting other details.
Features
The steering is notched with a reasonable range of movement.
Both the front and rear axles have sprung suspension
which works very well.
Quality
This is a solidly made model with a high metal content.
The paint finish is very good with high quality
graphics.
Price
The model is good value for a limited edition.
Overall
It is a nicely made model and it is a good one to promote
company brands. It would pose well as part of an
appropriate diorama.
Footnotes
The model first appeared in December 2013 in the
VINCI shop and was made in a run of 200 models.
