This set comprises three tractor and truck combinations.  They are a DAF XF and three axle box trailer, a Kenworth T680 and two axle box trailer, and a Peterbilt 579 and two axle box trailer.

This set was developed for Paccar, and so the trucks are generic with corporate branding so they do not have number plates.

Packaging

The packaging is a shrink wrapped plain high quality presentation box with the models held in high quality foam.

There were no missing parts or damage on the review models.

An unnumbered collector car is included.

Detail

The Peterbilt 579 is a 6x4 and has a sleeper cab.  The chassis is detailed with a number of parts in plastic.  The wheels have bright chrome work and decent tyres.  The front grille looks good and there is a tiny Peterbilt logo on the front and sides.  Textured steps lead to the cab and there are painted door mirrors.  The sleeper cab has nice bolt head details, and behind it there are coiled lines and very good grab rails and an exhaust stack.  At the back there are plastic mud flaps and simple painted lights.

The large two axle box trailer is heavy because of its metal construction.  Underneath, the axles are detailed with hoses modelled.  The wheels are very good, and there are nice rubber mud flaps.

At the front there is a detailed connection point for the coiled lines.  The graphics are of a very high standard, and the detailing is very good because of the numerous bolt head detailing.  At the rear the door detailing highlights the bolts and hinges.

The DAF XF Super Space Cab is a 6x2 unit and it has excellent paintwork. The chassis is detailed, with the suspension and transmission modelled.  The wheels are excellent, and there are different tyre treads on the driven axle.

At the front the cab has very good detailing, and the lights have lenses.  The mirrors are colour-coded and there are a couple of pairs of air horns on the roof.  Behind the cab, there are coiled lines, and plastic wheel arches cover the rear wheels and the rear lights have individual plastic lenses.

The box trailer is mainly metal and it is heavy with a high quality finish.  The axles are detailed with bright wheels.  The decoration of the rear doors is really good with highlighted bolts and hinges.

The Kenworth is a T680 6x4 with Sleeper Cab.  In terms of detail level it is very similar to the Peterbilt, but they are different models with small differences.  For example the seats inside the cab are different as are aspects of the body shell.  The chassis of both trucks is superficially the same, but the wheel trims are different as are the engine details.

The box trailer on the Kenworth is the same as that coupled with the Peterbilt.  The graphics on the sides are exceptionally good.

Features

The Peterbilt has good steering with a decent angle, and the hood opens to reveal a detailed plastic engine.  The Kenworth has the same working features.

The DAF has complex linked steering but the range of movement is small.  The cab tilts forward and is just able to hold a tilted pose.

The box trailers all have good sprung suspension on the axles.  They also feature landing legs which can be wound down revealing smooth pistons.

Quality

The tractors are all high quality models, as are the trailers.  The metal content is very high.

The paintwork is very good and the graphics on the box trailers are really good.

Price

The set is reasonable value.

Overall

Paccar have made a good decision to commission these models from WSI as they are very high quality and look really good.  The quality of the paint and graphics make them stand out.
