The tractor is a DAF 2600 and the
trailer is a Nooteboom 1-axle ODU Low Loader.
The DAF 2600 was manufactured between 1962 and 1974.
It is in the colours of
Nooteboom's Red Line range.
The tractor is made by WSI and the ODU trailer is marked
as manufactured by NZG. It has the number 581 and it was
first introduced as a model in 2006.
Packaging
The packaging is the usual WSI-branded
windowed box.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review
model.
A Nooteboom Certificate of Origin is also
included.
Detail
The DAF chassis is a 6x2 with the transmission and
suspension modelled to a high standard including leaf
springs on the front axle. The wheels are very detailed
with different tyres on the steering and driven axles.
The roof is nicely shaped and has two types of light.
The headlights and grille look realistic and there is an
accurate number plate. There are large windscreen
wipers and nice old-style mirrors. The Nooteboom
graphics on the cab are very sharp.
Behind the cab there is a large metal frame and
coiled lines, and tanks have filler caps and an exhaust.
At the back there are nicely decorated mud flaps.
The trailer is a robust metal model. It has a
simple structure underneath and nicely modelled
gooseneck with sharp Nooteboom graphics. Fold out
outriggers are modelled within the casting. The
plastic replica timber deck has a texture.
The rear axle is modelled well with well detailed
wheels. Sharp graphics are added at the back.
Features
The DAF
steering is notched with a moderate range of movement.
The trailer axle pairs can be opened up to allow rear end
loading of the trailer deck.
The trailer can be extended and two pins are provided to
lock it at various extensions.
Quality
This model is very high quality.
The paintwork and graphics are to a high standard.
Price
The model is reasonable value for a limited edition.
Overall
This is an interesting historic model in the Nooteboom
Red Line series. This is a high quality model and looks
great with a suitable vintage load.
Footnotes
The model
first appeared at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in February 2019,
and was available from April 2019.
