This model is one of Nooteboom Trailers Red Line Series.
The tractor is a Scania S Highline I CS20H Twin Steer
6x2 and the
trailer is a Nooteboom 2-axle EURO-PX Low Loader. The
tractor has a model fleet number of T-049 and the
trailer is OPL-054.
Packaging
The packaging is a Nooteboom-branded box with the model
held by plastic formers within an expanded polystyrene
tray.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review
model.
A
booklet is included which has excellent information
about the real trailer, including photos, and features
of the model are also described. Surprisingly for
a Nooteboom Red Line model there is no collector card included.
Detail
The
Scania tractor has a very good chassis with
the 6x2 transmission modelled with a black gearbox
visible.
The wheels are very detailed with different tyres on the
steered and driven axles.
The cab
roof has orange beacon lights, horns, and
a light bar. The grille is excellent with fine
mesh work and graphics and the bumper has nice chevron
decoration. There is a realistic number plate, and colour-coded
door mirrors.
Under the cab is a detailed engine.
The
Scania name is embossed in the casting at the back of
the cab, and there is a box containing a spare wheel. Coiled air
lines are fitted, and anti-slip surfacing extends to the
fifth wheel which is of a rigid rather than pivoting
design. At the back the light cluster looks good
and the mud flap has the Nooteboom website address.
The trailer is made up of the
Flexneck gooseneck with outside beams, and low loader
with 2-axle bogie.
The gooseneck is a
very nicely formed metal part. There are defined
holes at the front for coiled line connections, and ting
graphics all round. The control console on
the left side is exceptionally finely detailed, and
yellow reflective stripes run on each side. A spare wheel sits in the
storage area on top there is a tool box. A
highlight is a tiny cylinder with the Nooteboom logo
applied.
There is a detailed surface on the flat bed with plastic
timber decking which has the screw pattern visible. The
yellow reflective stripe continues along the edges.
Tiny non-functioning brackets for supporting timber edge
extensions are modelled, and yellow striping is
intricately applied. A services connection to the
gooseneck is provided at the front.
The
2-axle bogie features
a central trough, and two blanking plates can be fitted
if required. Excellent graphics are applied all
around the bogie, and on top the bolt positions of the Pendel axle access plates are highlighted.
Width marker
boards can be added front and back.
Features
The
Scania has linked steering with a small range of
movement possible.
The cab tilts forward to about 45° and can pose in the
tilted position.
The
low loader deck can be separated from the gooseneck for
loading. Clips are provided to lock the gooseneck
position when disconnected from the trailer, although
they are initially tough to insert.
The toolbox on the gooseneck has an opening lid and this
is a nice feature.
The bogie axles have linked steering which is precise.
They also have sprung suspension.
The deck is extendible and the mechanism works smoothly.
Quality
This model is high quality with plastic used
appropriately.
The paintwork is very good with many
excellent small graphics.
Price
The model is reasonable value.
Overall
This latest version of the Nooteboom
Euro Low Loader is a really nice model and poses well
with suitable loads. It looks great in the Red
Line colour scheme.
Footnotes
The model appeared in March 2021.
