Comment on this model.

This model is a specialised trailer for the transport of tractors units paired with a historic Scania R143M 450 V8 6x2 tractor.

It is in the colours of the VSB Group of Holland, which buys and sells trucks and also style and modifies them.

Packaging

The packaging is standard WSI branded box with the model contained within plastic formers within an expanded polystyrene tray.

There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.

A numbered collector card is included with indicates that 250 of this model have been made.  A warning card advises not to tilt the cab because of the attached bullbar.

Detail

The Scania is a 6x2 configuration with the transmission and suspension detailed to a high standard.  The wheels look smart with coloured hubs and different tyres on different axles.

The cab is highly decorated with many lights and horns on the roof and there are some very nice graphics.  The door mirrors are colour-coded and a finely detailed bullbar is fixed to the front.

Behind the cab are coiled air lines and anti-slip surfacing extends throughout.  At the back the large number of lights have plastic lenses and there is a number plate.

The trailer has well detailed suspension on the axles and the wheels and tyres look good.

At the front there are soft mud flaps and the wheel wells and non-slip surfaces are fine.  The moving ramps have textured surfaces but some of the connection rivets have unusually large heads for a WSI model.

There are tiny painted reflectors along the sides and the rear lights look good.  Wheel chocks and ramps are provided as extras along with two very large spanners.

Features

The Scania steering moves easily with limited range before the wheels foul the wheel arches.

The axles on the trailer have working suspension.

The functionality of the trailer ramps is very good.  The front ones can tilt up to support a tractor and allow the rear end of another tractor underneath.  The floor of the trailer extends and the outer ramps can be raised using a clever mechanism to allow the trailer to be loaded.  The rear can be extended to provide an extra wheel well.

Ramps can be posed for loading and wheel chocks can be inserted in a number of positions.

Quality

This model is high quality with relatively little plastic.

The paintwork is very good with high quality decoration on the Scania.

Price

The model is reasonable value.

Overall

WSI has produced an interesting model of an unusual trailer type.  It has very good functionality and looks impressive when loaded with tractors.  It is easy to highly recommend.
