The Volvo DD105 is an asphalt roller and as the name suggests it weighs 10.5 tonnes.

Packaging

The model comes in a nice Volvo branded box which has a few specification details about the real machine. It is packed between polystyrene trays.

There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.

There is no assembly to do as the model is complete out of the box.

Detail

The rollers are metal with a smooth finish and there is some detail on the underside of the model.  The steering rams are not modelled.

The ends of the drums are modelled in detail, and there is an edge cutter on one drum.  The assemblies which hold the drums have sharp graphics and highlighted details.

The pivot point is modelled in simple fashion with no hydraulics crossing.  There are warning signs and painted steps lead up to the cab.

At the front there are two large water tank filler caps which are blue, and there are lights modelled front and rear.

The cab has windscreen wipers and mirrors, and work lights.  Two beacon lights are mounted on the roof.  The doors are modelled very well including graphics.  Inside, the controls and seat are modelled to a reasonable standard and there is a textured floor.

Features

The drums roll smoothly.

Steering at the pivot point achieves a good angle.

Quality

This is a nice quality model.

Price

The model is fair value.

Overall

This is another nice model for Volvo, and it is also robust as well as being detailed.
