The
XCMG RP1256 is a tracked road paver.
Packaging
The model comes in a branded box which has Chinese text. Inside the box, the model is
contained within expanded polystyrene trays.
The review model had
no missing parts or defects.
No information is provided about the real machine.
Detail
There is detail underneath, with the belt chains and
belts modelled in metal. The plastic tracks are mounted
on simple track frames with scrapers at the rear.
At the rear the screed has a metal central section with
nicely textured surfaces. The extendible screeds
are modelled entirely in plastic. They are
detailed with a good colour match.
The operator's area has plastic grab rails, boxes and a
nice textured floor. The seats are textured and
the colour of the plastic side panels was slightly off
on the review model. The operator's console is
very detailed. The roof is metal and has plastic lights.
The engine panels have nicely formed grilles although
the look of the side panels is adversely affected by the
large silver hinges. Under the panels is some engine
detailing.
At the front the hopper floor is modelled in plastic.
The sides are metal with sharp graphics. The
rollers for engaging a tipper's wheels are modelled as a
solid part.
Features
The tracks are solidly fixed and do not rotate.
The screed can be raised and lowered, and is also
extendible for width.
The hopper sides can be closed in but they cannt lie
flat as the two stage rams that control them have been
modelled as single stage only.
The engine covers on both sides open fully.
Quality
This model is solidly made. It is mostly metal
with some plastic parts.
The paintwork and graphics are very good.
Price
It is reasonable value given the size.
Overall
This is a decent looking road paver model,
although the functionality is less than on some smaller
1:50 scale models, and the model seems simpler as a
result.
