The XCMG XE490DK has an operating weight of around 49 tonnes.
This model is in the small scale of 1:87.
Packaging
The model comes in a simple windowed box with the model
held within plastic formers.
The review model had
no defects or missing parts.
No information is provided about the real machine.
Detail
Even at 1:87 scale the model appears on the small side
for a 49 tonne machine.
There is no detail on the undercarriage but the underside of the body has some
panels detailed in the casting. The tracks are a
stiff rubber-like material. The track frames are simple
castings.
The operator's cab is fairly basic and unusually for a
scale model, there are no plastic windows.
The body has some detailing with solid grilles
and some graphics.
The roof has reasonable detail and an XCMG graphic.
The boom
has a single main boom ram rather than the twin rams of
the real machine. The hydraulic rams look a little
oversized and the bucket appears a little small.
Features
The tracks can be forced to roll by hand but the stiff
material is inflexible.
Rotation of the body is very smooth with no rocking.
The boom, stick and bucket have some
movement but it is much less than the real machine.
Quality
This is a simple small diecast model.
The paintwork and graphics are very good.
Price
It is understood to be low cost.
Overall
This is clearly intended to be a lower cost
promotional model and this is reflected in the detailing
and functionality of the model.
