This is a model of a Coke Drum with a nominal weight of
250 tons. When set up it
is 50cm long.
Packaging
This model box is plain black with an outer paper
sleeve. Inside the drum is wrapped in soft paper
and sits in expanded polystyrene trays.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review
model.
There is no information about the real coke drum and no
instructions.
Detail
and Features
The coke drum is a heavy piece which appears to be made
out of resin with some plastic parts.
The detailing is very good with bolt heads detailed in
many places. The casting of the part is excellent
with sharp details throughout.
The finish is also very good with uniform grey paint and
the graphics are sharp too. Some of the graphics
contain spelling errors, but it is not known if these
accurately reflect the signage on a real coke drum.
Four plastic support stands are included.
The lifting points work very well and that includes
tailing-in lugs at one end. The coke drum weighs
around 2 Kg, and the lifting points give confidence
during a lift.
Quality
and Price
This is a high quality
load. It is reasonably priced given the size and weight.
Overall
This
is a very good load which can be displayed on its own,
on a SPMT or hung from a big crane.
Footnotes
The model first appeared at the end of 2016.
It was also produced in Construction Orange and Iron
Brown. |
