This model is of a two axle trailer made by the RF
Trailer Manufacturing Company of Taiwan. It is
understood to be rated for loads of up to 70 tons.
Packaging
The model comes in nice cardboard box with the model
wrapped in soft paper and protected by black foam
rubber.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review
model.
A simple instruction sheet is included.
Separate king pins are supplied for use with WSI/IMC,
Ken Kraft, Tekno. Conrad and NZG tractors.
Detail
The underside of the trailer is highly detailed.
There are two king pin positions and excellent etched
grilles around the landing leg, which itself has smooth
piston faces.
The metal structure is excellent, and there are various
hoses running the length of the trailer.
The axles are superbly detailed, including realistic
leaf springs. The wheels are excellent, as are the
tyres which have full branding and tyre details in the
sidewalls.
The gooseneck has a water tank which is used to spray
the tyres to prevent overheating. The tank has a
filler cap and a tap, and hoses run from it.
The structure of the gooseneck has got round
perforations and RF Trailer Manufacturing graphics, and a winding handle for
the landing leg is visible inside.
The deck has very realistic inset replica timbers, and
the tie-down loops along the edges are separate moving
parts.
At the rear the lights and protection bars look great.
Features
The wheel pairs rotate separately. The axles have
working suspension which consists or real miniature leaf
springs which is a stunning detail in this scale.
The landing leg can be raised and lowered.
A flap at the rear can be opened to facilitate the
transport of long armed excavators.
The king pin on the gooseneck can be configured to suit
other model maker's fifth wheels and this provides the
trailer with great flexibility.
Quality
This is a very high quality model with a very high metal
content.
The paintwork and graphics match the high standard of
the model.
Price
The price reflects the high quality of the model.
Overall
As a first trailer model by YCC, this is an excellent
replica and matches the very high standard seen in YCC's
crane models.
