| Comment on this model.
The Vögele Super 800-3i Tracked Paver has a clearance width of only 1.4m and can pave widths up to 3.2m. It can lay up to 275 tonnes of material per hour and weighs 6.2 tonnes.
The 800-3i is the version of the machine optimised for the EU market.
Packaging
The model comes in a Vögele branded box and inside it is wrapped in cardboard backed foam.
The review model had no defects or missing parts.
The model is complete with no assembly required, and there is no information about it. It does include a reprint of a brochure about the real machine which is a good addition, and there are some technical details on the box too.
Detail
This is a small machine and so is the model in 1:50 scale. The rubber tracks are thin but realistic and they are mounted on nicely detailed track frames. There is a non-functioning spreader auger on the underside.
At the front the hopper belt is represented by the metal casting and the hopper sides are also metal. There are plastic roller assemblies for engaging the wheels of a discharging tipper truck.
The body is a detailed casting with the grilles in the top and sides, and the top one has real perforations. The operator's station has a textured floor and a finely detailed console which is really good. The hand rails are metal and realistically sized.
The screed is detailed and at each end of there is a control box modelled.
Features
The rubber tracks roll well in a straight line.
The hopper sides can close in to force material onto the belt, or for transport, and the roller assemblies also fold.
The screed can be raised and lowered, and can be extended on both sides for width.
Quality
This is a high quality small model with a high metal content.
The paint and graphics are good.
Price
It is good value.
Overall
This is a high quality paver model. It is small, detailed with good functionality.
Footnotes
The model was introduced at Bauma 2016. A version of the machine for the USA market (700-3i) was modelled as Conrad #2519/1.
