| Comment on this model.
This model is a Liebherr HTM 1204 Mixer mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Actros 10x4 chassis. It is in the colours of Kibag of Switzerland.
Packaging
The model comes in a Conrad branded box with the model protected by a foam rubber insert.
The review model had no defects and no missing parts.
There is no information about the real machine or the model. The only assembly is fitting door mirrors and roof aerials.
Detail
The chassis detailing is good with the rear axles and suspension modelled in plastic. The steering is modelled in a functional way, but this also means the prop shaft is missing between the engine and the driven axles. All the wheel hubs are very smart and wider tyres are fitted on the front axles, and axle 5.
The cab detailing is good with aerials on the roof, and the lights at the front have plastic lenses. The standard of the paintwork and graphics around the cab is very good although there is no number plate. Under the cab is an engine block. Inside the cab details are reasonable and the Mercedes logo on the steering wheel is a nice touch.
Behind the cab the chrome exhaust adds detail. The wheel arches are metal with a diamond plated anti-slip surface, and at the rear the lights are painted.
The large mixer drum is metal with a plastic ring at the rear bearing, and it has Kibag graphics. The drive motor and water tank at the front are also metal as is the access platform and ladder at the rear.
The chute is also metal and there are two fixed chute extensions above the rear wheels.
Features
The front axles have linked steering although the tyres are fouled at a fairly shallow angle. With that said the model can be posed with a hard lock on the steering.
The rear driven axles have a degree of vertical movement to simulate suspension.
The fifth axle steers and can be set to a very good angle. It can also be raised and clipped out of service to simulate when the truck is unloaded and tyre wear can be saved.
The cab tilts to a good angle.
The drum turns smoothly and the rear chute can be fully rotated to a discharge position.
Quality
This is a relatively heavy model with a high metal content. The Kibag livery and graphics are interesting.
Price
The model is reasonable value for a limited edition.
Overall
As with other Conrad models this is robustly made with good detail and functionality. The Kibag livery looks good and the model highly recommended.
Footnotes
The model was released in June 2013.
