| Conrad box. | | | It makes an impressive self propelled model. |
| Goldhofer module units are used to move large loads that can be up to 10,000 tonnes or more. These units can be pushed or pulled by tractors, but another option is to make them self propelled and for that you need a power pack attachment.
This is a model of a power pack and it attaches to the model of the module units which is reviewed here.
Packaging
The model is surrounded by rubber foam and packed within a Conrad labelled box and the review model had no defects or missing parts.
There are no instructions provided with the model but it is simple and straightforward to attach it to the module units.
Detail
The model power pack is heavy and solid, with some very fine casting details on the top surface with different diamond plate patterns. Around the edges of the power pack cabinets, grilles and controls are represented on the sides.
Features
A couple of working hydraulic cylinders enables attachment to the modules to be varied from horizontal to angled. These are stiff enough to be able to hold the power pack at any desired angle.
Quality
The model is very solid, with very good casting details. It is essentially all metal in construction.
Price
The model is perhaps a little expensive given the limited functionality.
Overall
As an attachment for the module units, the power pack really completes the overall model and many collectors will want to have the whole set. It certainly looks good when the modules are suitably loaded.
Footnotes
The model first appeared in November 2009. It is an attachment for Goldhofer module units which are included in model 98019.
