The Wolff 700 B is one of the largest in their luffing
jib range. It has a maximum jib length of 70m, and a
maximum capacity of 40 tonnes.
The scale model 700 B was released as
Conrad #2032.
This conversion kit produces the US version of the crane
with a shorter counterjib and additional hoist.
Packaging
The kit comes in a high quality Wolff branded box with
the parts held in foam rubber.
The review
kit had
no defects or missing parts.
There is a detailed instruction manual for the
kit which is pictorial and it has a list of parts. The
possible jib configurations of the real crane are shown.
Detail
The kit contains a number of parts including a revised
capacity board for the US version.
The largest different part is the machinery deck which
also uses some different handrail parts. It is
very detailed just like the base version of the model.
To fit it requires substantial dismantling of the base
model.
Other parts include an additional cabinet platform for
the lower tower head, and there is a short jib extension
for the second hoist.
The second hoist drum fits into the jib and additional
guide pulleys get installed into the jib also. A single fall hook is
included in the kit.
The detailing of all the parts is at the same level as
the base model.
Features
The winches of the kit all work in the same way
as on the base model.
All the configuration options of the base model are
available in the US version.
Quality
The kit is of the same high quality as the base model.
Price
This kit is
good value.
Overall
This kit provides an interesting alternative to the
standard 700 B model. The crane looks great in the
US configuration.
Footnotes
This kit appeared at the end of 2017.
