The
Vögele
MT 3000-2i Offset PowerFeeder provides an uninterrupted
supply of material to a paver, or to fill trenches or
road barrier cavities. It allows more rapid
unloading of trucks and allows the paver to not need
trucks to access it directly.
The conveyor can be pivoted to either side by 55°,
and can convey 1200 tonnes of material per hour.
Packaging
The model comes in
a decorated box and is enclosed
between polystyrene trays. The
review model had no defects or missing parts.
The model is complete with no assembly required,
and there is no information describing its many features.
A reprint of a brochure about the real
machine is included and this enhances the offering.
Detail
The rubber tracks are simple and are mounted on track
frames which mimic the real machine's simplicity.
At the front the hopper has worm conveyors and there are
rubber flaps at the front and the feed belt is rubber
also.
There are functioning rollers for engaging the
wheels of a discharging tipper.
The side panels have good graphics and they have hinges
on the top edges which are reasonably discrete.
Under the panels various engine details are provided as
items in relief in the casting rather than as separate
components.
The operator's area has a
textured floor and two seats, and is surrounded by metal
handrails. The control console is excellent
including tiny joysticks. The canopy above is metal.
The conveyor support has excellent hydraulic lines and
some fine detailing. The conveyor has a rubber
belt and includes a fabric cover with a plastic element
on top, and underneath there is a mesh screen.
Hydraulic lines run to the cylinders and the belt motors
at the tip. Lights are modelled with silvered
surfaces.
Features
The tracks can be forced to roll but are very stiff.
The hopper sides slide out, and the bottom flap can be
raised up to force material onto the belt.
Both operator's seats can be rotated out to provide a
better view forwards, and the seats also swivel. The roof canopy above can be
extended to provide shelter. The console can move
on a rail from side to side, and also rotates.
The canopy roof can be lowered to provide a reduced
headroom for travelling on a transport vehicle.
The conveyor can be raised from almost horizontal to
about 25°, and can rotate to either side
realistically. The rubber belts do not rotate.
Quality
This is another very high quality model for the Wirtgen
Group. It is mostly metal and finished well.
Price
It is good value for the quality and functionality
offered.
Overall
NZG has produced a very realistic model of the MT3000-2i
with plenty of detail and good functionality. It is an outstanding model.
Footnotes
The model first appeared at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2012.
