This model is a Volvo FH4 Globetrotter 8x4 with a six axle Goldhofer SPZ-DL6 Ballast Trailer.

It is in the colours of Heijkoop Kraanverhurr, a Dutch crane hire company.

Packaging

The model comes in the usual WSI branded box. Inside, the model sits in an expanded polystyrene tray with a clear plastic former and lid.

There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.

The only assembly required is to join the tractor and trailer together, and to fit the optional deck posts.

Detail

The Volvo chassis is highly detailed, with a coloured gearbox and an exhaust box.  The tyre tread patterns are different on the steering and driven axles, and the wheels look smart with their highlighted hubs.

The front grille is excellent and the lights and graphics are very nice.  On the roof there are beacon lights and stub aerials.  In common with other WSI Models the rooflight is not see-through. Inside the cab, the detail level is also good.  The graphics are sharp and the overall appearance of the Heijkoop colour scheme is attractive. There appears to be a fleet number on the cab sides.

Under the cab is a detailed engine bearing the Volvo name.

Behind the cab there is a big storage box which is detailed with small graphics, and there are coiled lines and a diamond plated walkway.  At the back the rear lights have plastic lenses, and there are Volvo branded mud flaps.

The trailer has a detailed chassis and the wheels and tyres are smart.  The landing legs have smooth pistons but they cannot be posed fully retracted.

The trailer deck has plastic replica timber inserts.  Along the sides of the deck there are some very tiny graphics.  The rear lights look good and there is a large stiff plastic mud flap.

A separate pack of metal deck posts are provided and these plug into holes in the deck edge. They can be stored in a holder at the front of the trailer when not in use.

Features

The Volvo has very limited linked steering.

It has a tilting cab which poses tilted.

The six axle  trailer has very good linked and proportional steering on axles 3 to 6.

Axles 1 and 2 can be clipped raised out of service.

Each axle has independent working suspension.

The landing legs can be lowered.

Deck posts can be fitted if desired although some sit loose in their holes and can lean, so careful posing is needed.

Quality

The overall quality level of the model is high with a high metal content and careful use of plastic.

The paintwork and graphics are excellent.

Price

The model is good value as a limited edition.

Overall

This is nice truck in the Heijkoop colour scheme which would look very nice next to a crane in the same colour scheme.  Although Heijkoop may not actually use the Goldhofer trailer, the compromise looks good.
