Lifting Beam - 40 ton Video
The bag.
Lifting a fabricated girder.  The chains are by Sword Models.
Lifting beams are used to reduce forces being applied to loads as a result of non-vertical chains and straps.

This accessory is a beam modelled on a beam configuration with a capacity of 40 tons.  The review set is in red (RAL 3002).

Packaging

This model comes in a small bag with the beam wrapped in tissue.  There are no chains included and there are no instructions.

Detail and Features

The part is metal and painted well in a slightly matt finish.  There are no graphics applied.

The beam can be lifted either on the central lug, or by chains on the outer lugs.  The central lug is large and will not fit the opening on all crane hooks.

Chains can be hung from any of six positions on each end of the beam allowing lifting widths of 4 to 9cm.  .

Quality and Price

It is a well made metal item with a good finish, but is relatively expensive.

Overall

This is a heavy looking lifting beam which poses well.  It is highly recommended if the cost is acceptable.

Footnotes

This accessory was first shown at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2011 and was also made in yellow (RAL 1007).
