Lifting beams are used to reduce
forces being applied to loads as a result of
non-vertical chains and straps.
This accessory is a beam which is extendible in length
and is modelled on a configuration with a
capacity of 20 tons. The review beam is in red (RAL
3002).
Packaging
This model comes in a small bag with the beam wrapped
in tissue and it includes a spare locking pin.
There are no chains or lifting straps included.
There are no instructions.
Detail
and Features
The two sections of beam are metal and painted well in a slightly
matt finish. There are no graphics applied.
The pins are plastic.
The beam is adjustable in length and can be pinned in a
large number of positions to suit the slinging of the load.
A variety of widths from 12 to 17cm can be achieved.
The two pieces slide very smoothly.
Quality
and Price
It is a well made metal item with a good finish although
it is relatively expensive.
Overall
This beam has good functionality and is a good accessory
for a crane model. It is highly recommended if you
do not mind the fairly high price.
Footnotes
This accessory was first shown at the Nuremberg Toy
Fair in 2011 and was also made in yellow (RAL 1007). |
